Dave co-heads the US practice and is based in the Los Angeles office. He specializes in recruiting Partners, Counsel and Senior Associates across all major US markets with an emphasis in the Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley markets. He also sits on Marsden’s Senior Management Team.

Dave has managed multiple exclusive strategic Partner searches and international recruitment campaigns for AM Law 100, Global 100 and Magic Circle firms. He is regularly asked to advise law firm executive management teams, practice group leaders and hiring managers with regards US and global talent acquisition and hiring strategies.

Prior to relocating to California, he was a Partner in Marsden’s Sydney office for seven years. He is widely regarded as a market leading recruiter for international lawyers relocating to the US – having placed hundreds of attorneys in the US market over the past decade.

Dave is known for his deep market knowledge of the US and International legal markets and regularly produces thought leadership articles and market commentary. He is a regular commentator for publications such as the American Lawyer, Bloomberg Law, and Law 360. He has presented at numerous legal industry careers events and panel discussions and has facilitated training sessions for the American Bar Association.

Before moving into recruitment, Dave began his career as a Labor and Employment lawyer with a Chambers Band 1 ranked employment team in the UK. He primarily advised global blue-chip corporations in the retail, infrastructure and energy sectors on a wide variety of employment issues.

Dave lives in Southern California with his wife and two children. Outside of work Dave is an avid reader and a lifelong martial artist – holding a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from the AOJ academy.
