Ann-Marie Goodbody

Head of Client Development

As Marsden’s Head of Client Development, Ann-Marie works across our European private practice and global in-house teams. With a focus on developing, strengthening, and deepening our client relationships around the world, Ann-Marie is also responsible for developing new client relationships. Ann-Marie works closely with US, UK, and European law firms to help them achieve their strategic growth ambitions across all practice areas and industry sectors in Europe.  Ann-Marie also partners with corporates to support General Counsels grow and develop their legal teams globally.

 

Ann-Marie previously specialised in lateral partner and partner team recruitment across Europe focusing on the Paris, Amsterdam, Austrian and German markets in addition to London. She has successfully worked with many law firms in Europe and has supported several partners in moving to a new law firm.

 

Having previously held Business Development and Strategy roles at several law firms including: Slaughter and May; Reed Smith; and Weil Gotshal, Ann-Marie has twenty years’ experience of working in the legal sector operating at Board level and supporting law firms globally. In private practice, Ann-Marie has had responsibility for opening new offices and developing new practice areas around the world in response to client needs and demands. Ann-Marie has also championed new lateral partners and teams and has set them up for success by providing advice, training, and support on business planning and client relationship management.  As such, Ann-Marie brings a unique perspective to lateral partner recruitment.

 

Ann-Marie is a qualified corporate and private equity lawyer with a degree in French and a keen interest in art law. She lived in Paris for a year and is passionate about diversity and inclusion within the profession.  Ann-Marie is a member of both the Law Society and the Franco-British Law Society.
